Paintings of residential oases in dark oil paint with shocks of color: the low hum of whirring AC units, neon pools, lime green golf courses tumbling into black swampland, glowing white picket fences restraining creeping foliage, and the ever-present fireworks coloring the skies at night. The canvases are layered with thin washes of oil paint, building opacity to depict mirages of light and water found in the humid, sub-tropical swampland.
